Coaching FAQs

  • You and I know you are here because you believe a potentially more fulfilling reality exists. This is precisely what coaching will help you explore.

Simply put, coaching is a two-way conversation that facilitates the self-enquiry necessary to visualise, verbalise and manifest your best life.

  • I won’t be shocked if it is for this very reason that you think you are someone who won’t be drawn to coaching.

But the truth is my motivation cannot motivate you simply because your motivation comes from within you.

I have a very humble yet sensible coaching approach. So, in our time together, we won’t just mindlessly follow the “anything is possible” mantra; instead, we’ll explore the reality of your goals to get clarity around what’s possible for you.

So, you can think of motivation as more of a by-product of coaching.

  • Nope, a coach won’t tell you what to do because a coach is not an advisor.

A coach’s job is not to spoon-feed or force-feed information but to work with you to help you find your own answers.

You’ll witness a stronger commitment to take action this way vs when you’re told what to do. Think about it, wouldn’t you rather listen to yourself than someone else?

  • Sure, talking to a friend can be helpful, but these conversations risk being driven from the point of view of the other person telling you what ‘they think’ is good for you.

The above is akin to advising, wherein the advice is based on your friend's beliefs, values and opinions and not yours.

Meanwhile, coaching is a professional relationship centred around you, where your agenda is the coach’s only agenda. A coach’s approach is unbiased, non-judgmental, honest, highly objective, and holds no assumptions about you.

  • My goal is simple – To help you wind up in a career you love.

This means I am here to help you find that new career direction, which could be anything from exploring a new career to making some meaningful tweaks in your existing career or anything in between that helps you achieve career satisfaction.

  • I offer my 1-1 coaching sessions for women only. However, I write for everybody. This means my newsletter, blogs, posts on social media, etc., aim to serve every career fulfilment seeker out there.

  • All my coaching sessions take place via Zoom (I coach in audio mode only. Hence, neither of us has to worry about looking weird on camera:).

  • Coaching requires a lot of hard work and commitment from your end. You must be ready to act on your commitment to reap its full benefits and also be open to the process by pouring your heart and soul into it.

Apart from being fully present during coaching sessions, you’d be expected to spend at least 2-3 hours a week between two sessions.

This time would be spent by you working on tasks/ action steps that you set yourself up for, completing the awareness exercises that help bring clarity around what matters to you, and reflecting and building on the insights gained during the coaching session.

  • The Be You - Career Fulfilment Coaching Framework consists of 12 sessions that equip you with all you need to find that new career direction.

However, the coaching pace and outcome depend entirely on the complexity of your goals, your ability to put your discoveries into action and your commitment and openness to the process.

I believe everyone is different. Whether you need the in-depth 12 sessions or just a few one-off sessions, I’ve created the Be You Coaching Framework to incorporate all the flexibility you need.

  • I believe in keeping things light and simple.

So, you can expect to receive feel-good coaching delivered with warmth but challenging enough to push you out of your comfort zone.

The Be You Career Fulfilment Coaching structured framework, coupled with thought-provoking coaching conversations and powerful awareness-generating exercises, will help you gain clarity about who you are and what career path would genuinely allow you to be yourself.

  • Apart from being a career changer and career fulfilment coach, I’m a certified life coach, which means I am trained to work with the whole of you. I don’t think we can work with professional and personal life in silos. You are living one life, after all. I believe one has to take a more holistic approach to living a fuller life instead of isolating one aspect of your life from another.

I’m also a certified NLP coach, which makes me equipped to help you see and work through your limiting beliefs. These limitations are often the biggest things keeping you from making a change.

  • Unlike these professions,

    • The coach does not give any advice. A coach’s job is to work with you to help you find your answers.

    • Coaching does not go over old ground, i.e., coaching focuses on the present and is a forward-looking way of gaining clarity.

    • Coaching is not prescriptive and does not utilize any medical framework to diagnose or treat illness.

  • Well, I was being honest above, too, but since you asked again, let me try to put this more simply for you.

You can do it yourself because, after all, that’s what we’ve learned about picking careers so far: that it’s something you need to figure out on your own.

However, through career fulfilment coaching, you get to work with your coach, who is your thinking partner. Which means you don’t have to do this alone. Which also means that you get the support you need to get unstuck.

A professional coach is trained to take you on this exploration and can understand you even better when your coach has been through their career change journey.

Your coach’s tailor-made approach could provide insights that may sometimes be impossible to discover on your own.

  • Great question! Let's start with a free 30-minute discovery call to see if we are a good fit.

You can tell me what you'd like to achieve through coaching and also try and get an idea of whether you feel that sense of connection with me.

I’m committed to working with clients I believe I can genuinely help, so I’ll let you know if I don’t think I’m the right person.

  • The word bomb would be an exaggeration. Yes, coaching isn’t cheap, but it’s all about perspective. People who invest in coaching consider it a one-time investment in themselves.

If you look at it rationally, the cost of not knowing where your career is headed outweighs any other cost.

  • Don’t worry about it – what happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.

I’m committed to providing a professional service with a guarantee of confidentiality.

This will also be outlined and included along with the other business terms in the Coaching Agreement I provide you at the commencement of our coaching relationship.
